Chamber Music Concert Series
Entering into its Seventh Season, the Chamber Music Concert Program was begun to foster a welcoming spirit to physicians new to the staff of Saint Joseph Hospital. A second, equally important purpose was to bring a modicum of culture to our institution.Gerald Rainer, MD, and Terry Smith, percussionist of the Colorado Symphony, were key players in the inception and implementation of the concert series, and Dr. Rainer has continued to encourage and promote the activity. The Rainer Auditorium offers a wonderful venue because of its excellent acoustics and intimate environment, allowing a magical relationship between musicians and audience. The concert programs have grown in popularity, and attendance ranges from 100 to 120 classical music aficionados. Thanks to the enormous talent and enthusiasm of the CSO musicians, we are proud of the success that this venture has accomplished. To our knowledge this is the only program of its kind to be held in any hospital in the United States. The concert series is jointly sponsored by the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation and Saint Joseph Hospital.
