Charity Medical Care Programs at Saint Joseph Hospital
In fulfillment of the shared Mission with the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, Saint Joseph Hospital operates four outpatient clinics on campus caring for low-income uninsured patients. The four clinics provide a continuum of care, from preventive through acute care, for more than 55,000 patient visits each year. In a physician office setting, staff members provide care for low-income, uninsured patients.
Assistance from Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation is given for a variety of services. Frequent requests include aid for medication that patients cannot afford, special equipment that patients need for healing at home and specialty care that clinics cannot provide.
The Caritas Clinic is a dual-specialty clinic that provides internal medicine and surgery care to adolescents and adults. The clinic is a major provider of breast cancer treatment to uninsured women with breast cancer. The Foundation supports breast cancer treatment through a grant from the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The Bruner Family Medicine Center provides care for patients of all ages. The clinic has a large juvenile practice with more than 40 percent of registered patients between 0 and 18 years of age.
The Seton Center provides obstetrical and gynecological services. The clinic delivers approximately 650 babies each year. The clinic can care for and manage high-risk obstetrical patients, including multiple births and births where mothers and/or babies have health problems.
Certified Nurse Midwifery Practice The certified nurse midwives (CNM) see patients in an office located on the Saint Joseph Hospital campus and deliver babies at Saint Joseph Hospital. The CNM Practice delivers xxx babies per year. Many patients appreciate the Centering Pregnancy program offered by the practice. The program cares for women in a group setting where patients learn from the CNM and each other.
